Our altar guild team prepares our sanctuary throughout the liturgical year, decorates for special holidays and prepares the elements for our open communion services. The team supports weekly worship through keeping candles filled with oil, removing flowers after worship and preparing them to go home with members of the faith community or to someone experiencing illness or hardship. This team meets bi-annually with scheduled times to decorate and meet as needed. Members each take a month with a partnering member to do weekly tasks to prepare and clean up from worship.

St. Andrew’s is currently going through the process and exploration of becoming an Open and Affirming Church. Open and Affirming (ONA) is the United Church of Christ’s (UCC) designation for congregations, campus ministries, and other bodies in the UCC which make a public covenant of welcome into their full life and ministry for all people.
St. Andrew’s United Church of Christ is an inclusive community rooted in God’s incredible love. As we work towards exploring and being an Open and Affirming Church, we strive to embrace and seek to preserve the beautiful diversity of God’s creation. We are a Christian community of faith who welcomes all people, embracing all diversities. All are invited to participate fully in the life of the church—in worship, celebrating the sacraments, in fellowship, ministering as lay and ordained persons, in leadership positions and in mission.
